PC3 Wildlife Conservation Project

This project focuses developing electronics and algorithms geared at protecting wildlife from intruders. It incorporates many sensing modalities such as Pyro-electric Infrared sensors (PIR), Pulse Doppler Radar (PDR), et cetera with Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) backbone to achieve this goal. This project is a collaborative effort between IISc, Ohio State University and IIT Allahabad. Our team at DESE focuses on designing ultra-low power PIR sensor electronics. The novelty of these electronics lies in the additional design features implemented and industrial design packaging as compared to Commercial off the Shelf (COTS) PIR sensor systems. We also focus extensively on developing energy harvesting electronics for these sensing systems to ensure perennial operation and minimal human  intervention.
