Rathin, his team, and clinical collaborators from KIMS Hubli have developed and validated an innovative system for the automated extraction of auditory-evoked EEG, using the developed stimuli-evoked EEG response extractor system, including stimuli generation, biopotential acquisition, a customized headband and response extraction and interpretation modules.

The developed automated ERP extractor system can accurately capture brainstem (ABR) and cortical (MMN) responses. The system is portable, easy to operate, adjustable for different head sizes, and uses adaptive filtering to eliminate non-neural noise. This research aims to provide a cost-effective and user-friendly solution for large-scale adult hearing screenings.

IISc highlighted this work in a press release, and it was also covered in various newspapers.
