Prof. Shayan Srinivasa Garani
Prof. Shayan Srinivasa Garani received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology – Atlanta, M.S. from the University of Florida – Gainesville and B.E. from Mysore University. Prof. Srinivasa has held senior engineering positions within Broadcom Corporation, ST Microelectronics and Western Digital. Prior to joining IISc, Prof. Srinivasa was leading various research activities, managing and directing research and external university research programs within Western Digital. He was the chairman for signal processing for the IDEMA-ASTC and a co-chair for the overall technological committee. He is the author of a book, several journal and conference publications, holds U.S patents in the area of data storage. Prof. Srinivasa is a senior member of the IEEE, OSA, the past chairman (2018 – 2020) for the IEEE Data Storage Technical Committee and the past chairman (2015 – 2018) for the Photonic Detection group within the Optical Society of America. He was awarded Prof. Satish Dhawan young engineers state award in the field of engineering sciences for the year 2018. His research interests include broad areas of applied mathematics, physical modeling, coding, signal processing and VLSI systems architecture for novel magnetic/optical recording channels, quantum information processing, neural nets and math modeling of complex systems.

Dr. Vidya Sagar
Dr. Vidya Sagar completed his Ph.D. from the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, in November 2023. He received his B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics from St. Xavier’s College Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, in 2016 and his M.Sc. in Mathematics from the Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, in 2018. He joined the Department of Electronic Systems Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India, as an IoE-Postdoctoral Fellow on December 28, 2023.
Research Interests: Algebraic Coding Theory, Cryptography.

Dr. Pavan Kumar
Dr. Pavan Kumar obtained his B.Sc. (Hons) in Mathematics and M.Sc. (Maths) from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, U.P., India in the years 2012 and 2014, respectively. He has also been conferred the degree of Ph.D. in Mathematics on the topic “Study of Some Classical and Quantum Error-Correcting Codes” for the year 2021 by Aligarh Muslim University. Dr. Kumar worked as an Assistant Professor, from Sep-2022 to Jan-2023, in the Department of Mathematics, School of Computer Science and Engineering, Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, Punjab, India. He worked in the School of Mathematics and Statistics as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow (PDRF) sponsored by the Institute of Eminence-University of Hyderabad, Hyderabad, Telangana from Aug-2023 to Sep-2023. He joined the Department of Electronic Systems Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India as a Research Associate-I on September 12, 2023.
Research Interests: Classical and quantum error-correcting codes, Classical-quantum cryptography and algorithms.

Arun completed his BTech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). He completed his Master of Engineering in Signal Processing at IISc Bangalore. He later had brief research stints at Raman Research Institute (RRI), Bengaluru, and Netherlands Institute for Radio Astronomy (ASTRON). He is also a part of the first initiative of India’s Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) using the Giant Meterwave Radio.

Dr Shikha Patel completed her Ph.D from the Department of Mathematics, Indian Institute of Technology Patna in June 2023.
