Welcome to the Electronic Systems Packaging Group

DESE(formerly CEDT) is located in the sprawling campus of the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. CEDT was established in 1975 with the support of the then Department of Electronics, Government of India and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, SDC.

DESE offers M.Tech in electronics design and technology and M.E. in microelectronics. These courses are of 2-year duration effective August 2002. DESE also offers research programs- PhD and M.Sc.(Engg).

The Electronics Systems Packaging Group at DESE has the unique feature of having modeled a structured academic course in electronics packaging in tune with the universities abroad that are pioneers in this growing field. DESE is the only institution in India where considerable hands-on experience is given to post-graduate students in electronics packaging, which includes CAD, manufacturing, assembly, electrical test and thermo-mechanical reliability.

CEDT, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore is looking for bright young candidates with an earned PhD in appropriate areas of electronics systems packaging for positions of Assistant Professor.

The areas of work of special interest to CEDT are :-

• Electrical package design & simulation
• RF packaging; Signal integrity
• Thermal design & simulation
• Design for Reliability, thermo-mechanical reliability
• Board level packaging and assembly etc.
