Project name : IoT – Enabled Universal Authentication Platform.
Project summary : IoT-Enabled Universal Authentication Platform, introduces a unique biometric system that combines fingerprint recognition with acoustic ear-canal shape-based authentication to address the challenges of existing authentication systems. While fingerprints are widely used for biometric identification, they face limitations such as susceptibility to spoofing, environmental variations, and aging effects. To overcome these issues, we incorporate a capacitive fingerprint sensor, which is resistant to wet and oily fingerprints, ensuring improved reliability. Also the inclusion of acoustic ear canal-based modality makes it a multi-modal authentication system that is robust and prone to spoofing attacks. In acoustic ear-canal-based authentication, a specific frequency range signal is transmitted into the ear canal using a speaker. The reflections, captured by a microphone placed near the ear, provide information about the unique shape and length of the ear canal to authenticate an individual.
