- Objective:
- Develop strong fundamentals in digital CMOS design with a focus on building more efficient circuits
- Overview:
- MOS Transistor basics, Delay, Power, Interconnect, Robustness, Combinational & Sequential circuit design, Array sub-systems, Memory design (basics)
- Lab:
- Using the Cadence design suite to design, simulate and verify designs
- An average of 3 hours of lab assignments per week, along with a course project

- CMOS VLSI Design by Weste & Harris (4th edition)
- Digital Integrated Circuits by Rabaey, Chandrakasan, Nikolic (2nd edition)
- Prerequisites:
- Network theory (undergrad level),
Students from non-electronics backgrounds will find it challenging
- This is a basic course with no prerequisites needed at the graduate level!
- Timings:
- Theory: Mon & Wed: 10-11AM
- Lab: Mon: 2-5:30PM
